BACKUP & RECOVERY.

Hardware fails, files get deleted and ransomware strikes. We make sure your data is backed up automatically, kept safely offsite and – most importantly – can be restored quickly when you need it.

  • Automated, monitored backups
  • Secure offsite copies
  • Regular restore tests, so you know it works

WHAT’S INCLUDED.

Automated Backups

Your servers, PCs and cloud services – including Microsoft 365 – are backed up automatically on a schedule we agree with you. No manual steps, nothing for your team to remember.

  • On-site copies for fast everyday restores
  • Offsite and cloud copies for resilience
  • Schedules set by how much data you can afford to lose – typically at least daily
  • Protection against hardware failure, accidental deletion and ransomware

Monitoring & Testing

A backup is only useful if it restores. We monitor every backup job and regularly test restores, so problems are found and fixed long before you need your data back.

  • Every backup job checked, with failures followed up promptly
  • Regular test restores against your agreed recovery targets (RTO and RPO)
  • Clear reporting, so you can see your backups are working

Data Restoration

When something goes wrong, we restore exactly what you need – from a single file or mailbox to a complete server – to the right point in time.

  • Rapid response to minimise downtime and disruption
  • Point-in-time recovery, from individual files to whole systems
  • Restored data verified for accuracy and integrity before handover

Offsite Storage

A copy of your backups is always kept in a secure, geographically separate data centre, so a fire, flood or theft at your office can’t take your data with it.

  • Encrypted, access-controlled storage in secure facilities
  • Storage locations that meet your data residency and GDPR requirements
  • Readily available whenever you need to recover

Disaster Recovery Planning

Backups protect your data – a disaster recovery plan protects your business. We’ll help you build and test a clear, risk-based plan so your team knows exactly what to do, in what order, when a major incident hits.

HOW IT WORKS.

  1. Review

We find out what data you have, where it lives and how quickly you’d need it back.

  2. Protect

Automated backups are set up for your servers, devices and cloud services, with copies kept offsite.

  3. Monitor & test

Every backup is monitored, and we run regular test restores to prove they work.

  4. Recover

If the worst happens, we restore the right data to the right point in time, fast.

COMMON QUESTIONS.

Microsoft keeps its service running, but under its shared responsibility model protecting your data is largely up to you. Deleted items are only kept for a limited time, so a separate Microsoft 365 backup protects you against accidental deletion, ransomware and departing staff.
We agree a schedule with you based on how much data you could afford to lose – typically at least daily, and more often for critical systems.
We monitor every backup job and carry out regular test restores, and we’ll share the results with you.
Backups are encrypted and kept in secure data centres, separate from your main systems. We can choose storage locations that meet your data residency requirements.
Restoring a single file, folder or mailbox is usually quick; recovering a complete server or system takes longer. We agree recovery time targets with you up front, based on how critical each system is, and test against them regularly.
Backup makes sure a safe copy of your data exists. Disaster recovery is the plan for getting your whole business running again after a major incident – which systems come back first, who does what and how you keep people informed. Find out more about our disaster recovery planning.
